Gibson re-used some serial numbers and this guitar's serial, 329810, could be either 1965 or 1967, but the ES-125C was introduced in late 1966 - so the number has to be from 1967. This very nice example of a classic Gibson jazz guitar dates to 1967. There is one P-90 pickup in the neck position, with volume and tone controls. It uses the standard Gibson archtop electic construction - press-formed, laminated maple is used on the body because of its feedback rejection, ad the neck is mahogany with rosewood for the fingerboard and bridge. The Gibson ES-125C is based completely on the full-body, non cutaway ES-125 but is also essentially the same as a 1949 ES-175. The Gibson ES-125 was Gibson's most popular archtop model from its appearance in 1941, but in the 1960s the demand for cutaways led to the 1966 introduction of the cutaway ES-125 C, and these were built until 1970.
